    The Last Airbender

Post by Danny on Mon Dec 27, 2010 3:00 pm

    First topic message reminder :

If anyone has seen the show Avatar: The Last Airbender, I'm sure you know where this is going. But the nations aren't at war anymore. Everything seemed to be in order, peaceful. There is being a tournament held in Ba Sing Se, and any and all contestants are welcome to join. You can be an Earthbender, Waterbender, Firebender, or even just a warrior. The contestants live in the high living area through out the tournament. Two or three to each house. There are different sectors, so not everyone is fighting everyone. The winner gets a bag of gold for spending or whatever!

After the tournament... well you guys can decide on what to do. If your having a fight, it doesn't have to be with another role player. I believe that's it. If there are any questions, we can figure it out as a role play!

    Have fun guys!!!

    Earthbenders:
    -Faith
    -Taiga

    Firebenders:
    -Brock
    -Kyoko

    Warriors:

    Waterbenders:
    -Asagi
    -Capri
    -Danny

House 1 (they can be coed):
    -Asagi
    -Faith
    -

    House 2:
    -Capri
    -Danny
    -Kyoko

    House 3:
    -Brock
    -Taiga
    -

    Can add more!

ooc - @Faith: Nope, the child - the boy - is an airbender. His name is Tenzin and he teaches Korra airbending. Since she's the new Avatar.
@Mercy: No worries. I'll keep you there unless anyone else thinks it may be unfair to be the only airbender. But no worries Smile

bic - I walk along the busy streets, noticing water tribe peoples and fire nation peoples, along with the earth kingdom peoples. A very populous city. There were four lines which stretched down along the street in front of a building. It was large on on the outer parts of the Upper Ring in the city. Each line was labeled.

    EARTHBENDERS
    FIREBENDERS
    WATERBENDERS
    OTHER

With a sign on top of the building which read The Nations Tournament. "Long line," I sigh to myself as I walk back down to the end. "Kuruk! Kuruk!" my name is called. I stopped and look around. A little behind me was Mrs. Sung standing with her 17 year old son, Kenji. I walk back a little, smile, and bow to the two. "Afternoon Mrs. Sung. Kenji."

"Afternoon," they reply politely. "Are you in the tournament Kuruk?" Mrs. Sung asks. "Ah... yea," I smile, trying to be polite. "Are.... are you in the....?" I asked confused. She was a bit old.

"Oh no!" she laughs. "Now, Kenji is, not myself. I'm just here to support him. You know how I love my son!" she smiles motherly as she hugs Kenji. He groans and tries to push her away. "Mum!" he groans embarrassed. I chuckle, throwing a hand behind my head. It was true, Mrs. Sung clings to her son. To be honest, I'm surprised she let him register in the tournament. After since she lost her husband to sea, it was always about Kenji. Mrs. Sung use to come over constantly with Kenji.... I just wasn't home most of the time, so I didn't know them too well.

"Stay in line with us Kuruk. We're almost to the front!" she smiles. I bow thanking them. I join into the small talk as we slowly move to the front of the line. It was a bit awkward yes, but it was the least I could do seeing as how she let me in the line. "Next!" the lady at the booth yells to the line. "That's you Kuruk. We'll see you around. Good luck."

"And yourself," I nod politely before walking to the sign in booth. "Name?" the lady asks. "Kuruk Feng," I tell her as I place my bag down. She writes something down before handing me a piece of paper. "Your in house two of fifty. Your first match is tomorrow night. The rest of your schedule you'll receive as you move along. Next!" she yells as I grab my bag and walk out of the line and towards my house.

I roll my eyes as the little rascle tries to follow me and I push him back with my hand.
"You can't come with me." I say and the hawk tilts his head to the side a bit.
I frown as it perches on the tip of my glider and I grumble something under my breath.
"FINE..." I say, not pleased with his stubborness. I open up my glider and he flies upward, angrily squawking at me.
I push the air forward and run forward, soaring into the sky as my new friend flies next to me.
"We gotta get to the city." I say to him as I swoop forward and gain speed along the currents of the rippling air.
I reach the city and land gently on one of the rooftops, folding in my glider and looking around as the eagle lands on my shoulder.
"Woowww." I say, looking around, taking a step forward and examining all the people. I smile, this was going to be fun.

Taiga walked over to find four lines. People were nervously lining up behind each other, excited to be signing up for the tournament. Taiga adjusted the bag on her shoulder and stood in the earth bender's line. It was a long line, a bit of nervous talking and excited murmurs filled the air.

When she got the the front, they asked for her name. "Taiga Tamar." She responded, taking the paper that the lady handed to her. "Your in house three of fifty." She said, before calling 'next.' "Thanks." Taiga muttered, bowing politely and walking towards the houses.

Asagi disembarked from the train and looked around through sloe eyes at the bright sun overhead. It was uncomfortable and she'd forgotten her parasol. She watched the wall that stretched as far as her eyes could embrace on either side of her. So this was Ba Sing Se. She had been only as far into the earth kingdom as some of the primitive ruins of temples to the badgermoles that were believed to be the original practitioners of earth bending.

She appreciated visiting such sites. They reminded her that they were all children studying the arts of creatures far greater than they. She folder her hands into the sleeves of her hanfu and walked through the city with her hair falling into her face slightly. She wasn't quite noble enough to care for the stiff and coiffed updoes that the courts demanded.

She walked along the dusty road watching as the other contestants rushed past her. She didn't feel such necessity to run on. She looked hither and thither for the designated arenas and noted the lines forming before her--four. She knew well by the colors that those in each line wore, which she should stand in.

She stood behind another water bender--a boy who appeared a stone's throw younger than she. She looked up at the woman with the scroll awaited her question.

    "Name?"

"Asagi Tao," she replied her voice breathy.

"Right. You are in house one," she replied.

Asagi nodded, a lock of achromatic hair falling between her eyes, that she swatted back quickly. She was feeling peckish for something cole.

"Know any good sashimi shops," she asked the woman who returned her a funny glance. She sighed and strode off.

Kyoko pulled the black hood over her head as she left the train booth, leaving nothing in her path. She held her bag close to her side, as she was warned by her father about thieves. She walked from the train towards the long lines of people, a large banner with 'The Nations Tournament.' Kyoko took her place behind another fire bender carrying a large staff with the Fire Nation symbol on it. Kyoko crossed her arms and watched as the flag moved in the wind, only to be called soon enough.
"Kyoko Sato." She said, pulling her hood down. The old woman opened a scroll and looked through it before marking something down next to the paper. She looked back up at her through her thin glasses and spoke. "You're in house two out of fifty. You're first game is tomorrow evening. The complete schedule will come to the house tonight." She nodded Kyoko off, ignoring her thanks. Kyoko flowed with the crowd towards the house, looking at the market covered streets. The market obviously had moved in to the street for the Tournament, as it was an important time for Ba Sing Se. The streets were draped in brightly colored sheets and brightly colored foods. Kyoko took a step from the crowd into a stall, taking a red, orange, and yellow scarf from the wall. "Two" The woman said quickly, helping another woman who was buying at least ten fabrics. Kyoko handed the money to her and placed the scarf in her bag before joining the crowd again and walking towards house two.

I stand not far from the building where I had just signed in. I scratch my head a bit before decided to head to the market... Well hundreds of streets filled with thousands of booths. Looking from the city from afar, you'd never guess how packed it could be. I was reading my paper as I walked. I was first facing an earthbender, age 18. Should be interesting enough. I look up again to see a rock coming towards my head. "Look out mister!" I kid yells as draw water from a near by pot and forming an ice wall. The rock drops to the ground before I return the water. The kid runs up to grab his rock. "I'm sorry mister. My friends and I were playing a game. We call it war!" he smiles. The kid was about 11 or 12. "War, eh?" I ask, rubbing my chin. "Why don't you grab your friends and meet me in 10 minutes. You know where the Upper circle is?" he nods excitedly. "Meet me there with your friends. In front of house two for the tournament. We'll have our own war," I chuckle as the kid runs off to get his friends.

Since I was at the "market" I move to a weapons stand, but I wasn't much for weapons. I never got the hang of them. I walk a little bit before I see a pouch and bags stand where I see a small, over the should pouch (like Katara had). I purchase the pouch before I head back towards the house.

When I got to the tournament houses, the crowd seemed to died down a bit and the housing and scenery was beautiful. Trees and gardens, and a long man made river flowing peacefully on. I reach house two after a bit, opening the sliding doors. The house was empty but there was a candle flickering on the table near the door. There was an odd scent in the air (perhaps a fruit?) but it wasn't over powering. I walk into the house to pick a room. "Hello?" I call out ad I throw my bag on the bed.

Kyoko walked back towards the house, the crowds dying down. As she walked, she looked around at the scenery behind the city. Green mountains stood upon the horizon, hanging below the blue sky. Kyoko turned her attention to the house again, pushing in the door under the large 'two' circled in red. Walking inside, she looked at the candle next to the door first. She placed her hand over it, taking the flame. it danced around her fingers as she walked into the house, looking around. "Hello?" She asked, answering the voice.
She walked towards a door and knocked, hearing do answer she walked inside. She took off her bag and placed it on the bed. Kyoko walked back into the main room of the house and sat in the kitchen, taking a pot from the counter. She closed her fist, the flame dying within her fingers as she poured water into the copper pot, the beginnings of tea.

I heard a voice and the sound of the door opening and closing. I pop my head out of my room to see a girl standing there, making tea. "Why hello there," I chuckle walking out of my room towards her. "I'm Kuruk," I smile dumbly, bowing to her. She was a bit younger than myself, but not by much. "I assume your in the tournament too?" I ask, trying to make small talk. I watch as she makes tea. I stand there in silence before I try again.

"Hey, som kids and I are going to try this game outside.... Wanna join?" I pause waiting for her answer, but I interput her before she could speak. "Wow... That sounds kinda lame out loud," I say as I blush. I was making an idiot of myself... Great.

Kyoko nodded her head to the man before going back to her tea. "I'm Kyoko, and yes, I'm in the tournament as well." Kyoko laughed and began searching through the kitchen for a mug. Finding one, she returned to Danny. "I'd love to join you, and your children friends." She smiled and poured the water before adding the tea bag, letting it draw. Kyoko turned back to the man, giving a polite smile. "What tribe are you from?" She asked, attempting to make casual conversation.

I stepped off the train hurriedly, passing the gretting lady. I have been here many times before. I was ajust anxious for teh tournament to start. I got my ticket and house number and made my way there. Before walking in my house, I noticed the girl in fron of me, go into the house next to mine. She had clothing of the fire tribe. It looked like my particular tribe. The Shiki tribe. I stopped and let her enter the house. I walked up to her door, pondering if I should knock, to see if I know her or not. What if I'm wrong? I sighed and shrugged it off. I knocked lightly.

A deep breath arose as I waited in the long line of the Earth benders, or at least the one someone informed me it was. I took in a deep breath as I continued my walk, making short pulses of Earth move with my feet as I waited. I was silent mostly until my name was called, well atleast until ‘next’ was called for about the hundredth time and the ten year old behind me pushed me forward. Apparently he was tagging along with his older brother that was in the tournament.
“Name?” The woman eyes me [At least what I assume] and I tilt my head up slightly.
“Faith Wynters” I spoke simply, closing my eyes a moment. (ooc-My name, is the only name that doesn’t sound all oriental Just sayin)
She chuckles quietly an I shake my head.
“You are in the First House, and your Fight is tomorrow. We have escorts if you need them?” I chuckled, shaking my head as I turned and started on my way.

Taiga walked up to the third house and opened the door carefully, peeking in. No one yet. It was almost completely silent except for a light knocking sound from. She glanced out, watching a guy as he knocked on the door to the house next to hers. She slipped into the house and looked around, pulling her bag off her shoulder.

I thank her and sip the tea. "Northen Water. Your clothing... Fire nation?" I ask before I drink most of the tea. I had just cooled it down a bit. There was a knock on the door before it slide open. "Mister, are ya coming or what?" said the kid. "That would be us," I laugh, finishing off the tea before I place it on the counter. "Thank you for the tea by the way. I'll see you outside," I smile before I head outside to see a group of four kids. Two seemed to be young (about 11 or 12) while the other two seemed older (perhaps 16 or 17). "That's my older brother, and his best friend," the kid tells me as he runs down the stairs. I follow, walking down. "So... Uh... How do you play this?" I chuckle.

"Throw stuff. Don't get hit. It's about it," says the one of older kids as he throws his hands in the air to make an earth wall. "What happens if I get hit?" I ask, moving back a bit. He shrugs. "Nothing. But if you hit someone you get a point. First to 10 wins. Teams. You, and my younger brother. The rest are on my team."

"Fine, but we get Kyoko," I smile as I run back. I throw out a hand as draw water from the man made river to make an ice wall. I draw more water and form them into snow balls. A rock flies over the wall as I hear a "Begin". I laugh. "Let's get 'em kid," I laugh as I jump over the wall and throw some snow balls, laugh as I hit a guy in the shoulder, but I fall of my butt dodging a rock.

"Yes, Fire Nation. Shiki tribe." She took a sip of her tea as the man went outside, only hearing voices as they walked. As she put the pot and the cups away, there was another light knock on the door. Kyoko walked quickly towards the door, brushing her hands off her clothes. She opened the door to see a man in the Shiki clothes. "Hello?" She smiled at the man, hoping he'd give his name, as it seemed to escape her at this moment.

I took a couple steps back, I was off teh steps. Closer to the road. I set my bag down quickly and looked back up to Kyoko. "Kyoko! We had classes together at the Fire Acadamy." I remember seeing Kyoko when we practiced our fire bending. We never practiced together, but she was always near me. I just never could build up enough courage to talk to her. I was older now, so I guess it was easier. I nodded, "Yeah. That's the only reason I ever come to this drab city. Just for compitions and tournaments. This is one is the biggest yet. I can't wait." I glanced away for a second, then looked back to Kyoko. "Are you in it?"

"Oi!" I yell to Kyoko and the new guy. "Are you coming or what?" I yell just as a rotten apple hits me in the side of my head. I stumble back, wiping it off. "Whoa! You said you could throw rotten apples?!"

"I said throw stuff! Never said what stuff!" The older kid laughs as I throws more rocks at me, diving behind another wall he, or his friend, built. I quickly wave my hand, rocking the rocks aside with water. "We could use some help here!" I shout as I fall to my stomach to dodge more items being thrown, rolling to my side then back as I jump back up. I jump back behind the ice wall, to see the little kid curled up behind the wall. "What's up kid?"

"I can't go out there! I'll get hit, and my earth bender isn't as good as my brothers," he says, starting to cry. "Is that so? Okay, then here's the plan. You run out, don't worry, I'll cover you. You run out, throw these at him-" I tell the kid, passing him a handful of snowballs. "Got it?" The kids nods excitedly again. He runs out and I stay behind the wall. A stone comes towards the kid, but I whip it away with a stream of water.

"Yes!" Kyoko quietly laughed, remembering the Fire academy. "Of course I'm in the tournament. I'm could never turn down a fight." She smiled and looked back at the street, seeing Kuruk playing with some children. "Hey, would you like to join my house-mate over there?" Kyoko asked, pointing to where Kuruk stood. "He's playing some game, and he looks like he has a disadvantage." She said, looking back to Brock as Danny yelled to them. "Coming!" She called out, running towards Kuruk.

I shrugged, "Sure..." I began to jog after her. "What do we do?" I called out, as I began to catch up with her.

I didn't even make to to the house before hearing the sounds of others. They were playing a game as it sounded. Rocks were bing thrown about, hitting earthwalls and something else, maybe an icewall or two. I smirked quietly, children in our villiage used to play something of the sort, of course, to a greater extreme.

I took in a deep breath as I planted my feet on the ground, listening to the sounds of the game. There were two or more on either side, using thwir bending to create objects to throw. I giggled quietly as I listened to the sounds. They were all different, and it seemed that they all had some type of advantage over the other, whether it be teamwork or just power. Know your enemies, right Father?

"Dodge the rocks, I guess." Kyoko answered Lupus, arriving a few feet behind Kuruk. Kyoko shrugged to Brock and picked up a rock before chucking it at one of the kids, who dodged it easily before returning fire. Kyoko ducked, the rock flying overhead. She picked up another and continued this, only hitting one kid who was pre-occupied trying to hit Kuruk.

"Don't get hit!" I laugh, dodging a rock as it came at me. The little kid had run back to the fort, having run out of snowballs. "Kuruk!" he called as I ran back, throwing more snowballs over the fort. Someone lifts there head above the earth wall, for me to see a little pile of snow on their head. I laugh ducking behind the ice wall. "What's up buddy?"

He held out his hand, and his eyes were tearing. He was trying not to cry. "Someone threw a rock, and I tried to protect myself, but I forgot-" he begins to cry. "Don't worry about it. Are you okay?" he shakes his head, opening his palm. He was bleeding... well barely, but he was a kid, so the blood freaked him out. "Your okay, watch." A flow of water comes from the ice wall and circles his hand. It glows before falling to the ground. His wound was healed. "My mother was a healer. I'm not as good as her, but... you okay now?" he nods, wiping away tears. "Good. I'm going back on the battle field," I tell him as I run out in the open, a circle of water hovering around my torso. More items were being launched at me, but I would wipe them away with the water.

I moved behind the earth walls, unsure where Kyoko or the new guy was. I ducked as someone threw a large rock, it barely missing my head. Scared he missed, he tries to run away, but I grab his ankle with a stream of water, tripping him. I them turn the water into a large snowball, as I throw it as him. I was close to 10!

She says to dodge rocks as she gets to a wall, she ducks and a rock flys over here head. It hits me in the chin. "Ah. Wow...that actually stung a little bit." I was now actually paying attention. The teams were even so I didn't know what side to join. The team on the other side of Kyoko, the little kid, and the other older male seemed to be better. More experianced at least, so I decided to join thier team. I ran through the crossfire, dodging, sliding, and flipping. Whatever it took to get through there unscathed[sp]. I dove behind the rock wall ahead of me, rolling to the side and then pressing my back against the wall. They noticed I was a fire bender almost instantly. They smiled and said, "Here!" They created a few rocks for me and tossed them to me. I grinned. "Thanks." I loooked over teh edge of teh wall to throw a rock, but duck back down quickly attempting to evade the barrage of snowballs and rocks. They ended shortly so I layed on my side and threw a couple rocks from teh side of the wall. Trying to catch someone off guard.
