Read Me Wheel of Time: Darkness Falls

Post by Murdoch on Thu Jan 06, 2011 5:00 pm

    First topic message reminder :

This is an RP based on The Wheel of Time. It takes place three years after the Aiel War, when the Aiel (the warrior tribes from the Aiel Wastes, across The Spine of The World mountains) are retreating to their homes. The set-up is…long, to say the least, but it IS important. This is a whole world, and I need to condense it as much as humanly possible…bear with me please.

Only serious Rpers, please. I plan to have this go on for a while, and I plan for this to have a story line of sorts. I would like this to stay alive past on night. You must also be willing to read. A lot.
However, you can skim. I don’t expect you to read every last bit. You can skip the background if you wish, but I suggest at least half-reading it. You can skip the bit about The One Power if you don’t plan on being able to use “magic”, but I suggest you read about the Aes Sedai and the Whitecloaks.

    Background:
At the dawn of time, The Creator forged the universe and the Wheel of Time which, as it turns, spins all lives. The Wheel has seven spokes, each representing an age, and it rotates under the One Power, which flows from the True Source. Essentially composed of male and female halves (saidin and saidar) in opposition and in unison, this power turns the Wheel. Those humans who can use this power are known as Channelers; the principal organization of such Channelers in the books is called the Aes Sedai or 'Servants of All' in the Old Tongue.

The Creator imprisoned its antithesis, Shai'tan, at the moment of creation, sealing him away from the Wheel. However, in a time called the Age of Legends, an Aes Sedai experiment inadvertently breached the Dark One's prison, allowing his influence to seep back into the world. He rallied the powerful, the corrupt and the ambitious to his cause and these servants began an effort to free the Dark One fully from his prison, so he might remake time and reality in his own image. In response to this threat, the Wheel spun out the Dragon, a channeler of immense power, to be a champion for the Light. In the Age of Legends Lews Therin Telamon was named the Dragon, who eventually rose to command the Aes Sedai and their allies in the struggle against the Dark One's forces. After a grueling ten-year war, which began a century after the Dark One's prison was breached, Telamon led his forces to victory in a daring assault on the site of the earthly link to the Dark One's prison, and was able to seal it off, his highest and most powerful subjects, The Forsaken- 13 men and women who swore themselves to Shai’tan- being sealed away at the same time.

However, at this moment of victory the Dark One tainted saidin, driving male channelers of the One Power insane. The male channelers devastated the world with the One Power, unleashing earthquakes and tidal waves that reshaped the planet, referred to in subsequent ages as "The Breaking of the World." Their leader, Lews Therin, killed his friends, his family, and everyone in any way related to him and finally himself in his insanity thus gaining the epithet Kinslayer. Eventually, the last male Aes Sedai was killed or cut off from the One Power, leaving the human race all but destroyed and only women able to wield the One Power safely.

The Aes Sedai reconstituted and guided humanity out of this dark time. Mankind now lived under the shadow of a prophecy that the Dark One would break free from his prison and the Dragon would be reborn to face him once more, raining destruction upon the world in the process of saving it from the Dark One.

Over the next three and a half thousand years, the human race returns to a level of technology and culture roughly comparable to that of the 18th century (although without military use of gunpowder and without formalized science, the development of both playing a part in the story), with the difference that women enjoy full equality with men in most societies, and are superior in some. This is put down to the power and influence of the female-only Aes Sedai spilling over into everyday life. Several major wars have ravaged the main continent since the defeat of the Dark One, such as the Trolloc Wars, when the surviving servants of the Dark One tried to destroy civilization once more but were defeated by an alliance of nations led by the Aes Sedai; and the War of the Hundred Years, a devastating civil war that followed the fall of a continent-spanning empire ruled by the High King, Artur Hawkwing.

These wars have prevented the human race from regaining the power and high technology of the Age of Legends, and also left humanity divided. Even the prestige of the Aes Sedai has fallen, with their shrinking numbers and the emergence of organizations such as the Children of the Light, a militant order who hold that all who dabble with the One Power are servants of the Shadow.

The nations of the modern era are able to unite against the warrior-clans of the Aiel, who cross into the western kingdoms on a mission of vengeance after they suffered a grievous insult, but are too divided to work effectively together in other areas. Over the Ages, there have been “False Dragons”, who all claim to be The Dragon Reborn. Each one has either been killed or “Gentled”, if they could indeed Channel, by the White Tower, the seat of Aes Sedai power in the city of Tar Valon.

Now, this may take you a while to read, but its important. I cannot stress enough how important this is to those that wish to use magic.

    The One Power:
The One Power is divided into male and female halves, saidin and saidar respectively, that work both with and against each other to drive the Wheel of Time. The True Source cannot be consumed by channellers, as a river cannot be consumed by a waterwheel. Each half of the One Power is able to be used only by people of the associated sex, and men and women have very different experiences in channeling.

The One Power is basically magic, and using too much of it at once can either kill you or “Still” you, which is what being cut off from the True Source is called- you can sense it, but you cannot touch it. Females surrender to Saidar, surrender and merely guide it to what they wish it to do- they compare it to a flower opening towards Saidar, absorbing, releasing and guiding the flow- whilst Males have to fight Saidin.

They fight it with every fibre of their being to prevent it from overwhelming them, fight to control it. As it is, Males that can channel are rare, as any male that channels is doomed to go mad and kill and destroy until he is either killed, “gentled” (What the Aes Sedai call stilling a man) or dies himself, although times vary from two years to over ten. Aes Sedai hunt these men and Gentle them to prevent them from causing destruction.

Angreal are artifacts which enable its users to draw more of the One Power than they would normally be able to. Angreal also protect them from drawing enough Power to burn themselves out.

Sa'angreal are identical to angreal, except that they allow the user to draw more Power than even an angreal can handle. Ter'angreal are objects of the One Power that perform specific functions. Some ter'angreal do not require the One Power to be used for their activation. The techniques the ancient Aes Sedai used to create angreal, sa'angreal, and ter'angreal has long been forgotten to the White Tower.

Not everyone has the ability to "channel" the One Power. Most men and women cannot reach it at all; of those who can, most must be taught to access it to varying extents, and can go their entire lives without touching (or even knowing they can touch) the Source. Generally those on the main continent find out when Aes Sedai, visit their town on a recruiting trip. Aes Sedai visitors also search for the few channelers who are born with "the spark," an innate gift that will inevitably lead them to touch the Source. If left untrained, these gifted channelers often die without ever gaining control over their innate ability; the Aes Sedai estimate the mortality rate at 75% or more.

Those who survive, called "wilders" by the Aes Sedai, do not realize that they have channeled, only that "things happen" if they want them to. To aid in this self-deception, they often develop a "block," an instinctive self-preservation behavior that keeps them from channeling in all but exceptional circumstances. Known blocks include only being able to channel while angry, in the presence of men, with one's eyes closed, and so on. These blocks can be eventually overcome, but only after significant and sometimes drastic counseling.

Ok, now I know this may take you a while as well, but is ultimately important. These are the main factions that I feel you need describing, and the rules for you being one:

--Aes Sedai, Women only (you can just skim this if you aren‘t going to be Aes Sedai. If you want to be Aes Sedai, you MUST read this) : The Aes Sedai are the women who can channel. Their base is in the White Tower in tar Valon, and they go in three stages: Novices are the lowest. They are basically servants with no pay as they also attend lessons in self-control, politics, history etc. They wear grey. Accepted are slightly higher then Novices, and are occasionally allowed out of the tower. They wear white, and the great serpent ring on their ring finger on their right hand. Aes Sedai wear whatever they want, with a formal shawl in their Ajahs colours. They can wear their ring wherever they want, and can come and go as they please. They are split into seven Ajah’s: The Blue Ajah involve themselves with causes and justice, and are always calm and expert manipulators.

The Blue Ajah is the second smallest one, but it has the most extensive network of eyes-and-ears (spies), and are the second smallest. The White Ajah devotes itself to questions of philosophy and truth, are all coldly logical (they don’t show emotion. Ever. And they always ALWAYS think things through logically) and is the smallest Ajah. The Brown Ajah forsakes the mundane world and dedicates itself to seeking knowledge, and they are always far-off and bookwormy. They can’t focus on one thing for very long.

The Gray are mediators, seeking harmony and consensus. The red Ajah bends its energies to finding men who can channel and gentling them. Although women cannot detect saidin, they can read the residue of the weaves and that is their primary tool for tracking- they don’t like men (so as such do NOT have warders), and although all Aes Sedai don’t like men who channel, and ‘take care’ of them, Reds HATE men who can channel.

The Green (called the Battle Ajah, during the Trolloc Wars) holds itself ready for Tarmon Gai'don (the Final Battle, where the Dragon reborn will fight the Dark One for the sake of the world), they also are a BIG fan of men (besides those who can channel), and as such they usually have two or three Warders. The Yellow concentrates on the study of Healing. There is an eighth Ajah, although the Aes Sedai deny it, called the Black Ajah. The Black Ajah is dedicated to the service of the Dark One- there are some in every Ajah, undercover.

The Aes Sedai all take three oaths, bound to them by a Ter‘angreal: To never speak a word that is not true (although the truth you hear may not be the truth they mean), to never make a weapon for man to kill other men, and to never use the power as weapon except against Shadowspawn, in defence of their life, their warders or another sisters life (Sister is what they call fellow Aes Sedai). These oaths are unbreakable, save by the Black Ajah, who have sworn new oaths to The Dark One. The Aes Sedai MUST be skilled manipulators and cunning wordsmiths, and must not bat an eyelid at using people for their own ends. That is Compulsory.

--The Warders (male only) : The Warders are Blademasters of the highest calibre, the greatest warriors in the world. Every Full Aes Sedai has one (except the Red Ajah, who don’t have them, and the Green Ajah, who have several, some even marrying one of their Warders). If you are to be a Warder, please set out an Aes Sedai to follow- as a Warder, you must follow your bonded Aes Sedai to keep her safe from harm- whether it be an NPC or a player (I recommend the latter). The Warder feels a portion of whatever the Aes Sedai feels (and vice versa- whether it be pain, pleasure, sorrow, anger, etc) and the Aes Sedai can “Compel” the Warder to do something via the bond, which forces them to do it. This is rarely used. Although very good at sword craft, the Warders are hardly invincible.

--Whitecloaks (Generally males) : The Whitecloaks are against ALL uses of The One Power. They see all Aes Sedai and male channelers as Darkfriends (humans that worship The Dark One), and have sworn to exterminate all those that can channel. They always wear a white and Gold uniform-and-cloak, with a Golden Sunburst on their chest. There are also the “Questioners”, who are unpopular even amongst the Whitecloaks, their symbol being the Golden sunburst with a scarlet shepherds crook behind it.

They question for “guilt”, and torture for confessions….even if the accused has nothing to confess. After enough torture, one will confess anything. The Whitecloaks real name is “The Children of The Light”, the Questioners name being “The Hand of the Light”, but people never use those names, referring to them as their slang…not to their faces, of course. Never to their faces. They swagger about and are generally zealous and arrogant.
Whitecloaks generally don’t like Questioners, and refer to them by their slang name rather then their formal name- to their backs, at least. Even a Child of The Light is not safe from The Hand of The Lights. Questioners don’t have friends. They are suspicious of everyone and everything.

--Darkfriends: those that worship the Dark One, whom they call “The Great Lord of the Dark”. (the Dark Ones name is Shai’tan, but saying it is classed as the WORST luck ever, so it is NEVER- I repeat, NEVER- used).

Ok….that’s it then. That’s the background and what you need to know for the purposes of this RP. The roles that are prohibited are as followed:

--The Forsaken: There are only thirteen, and they are trapped within the Dark Ones prison. They have appearances and personalities that are defined in the books, so…yeah.

--The Amyrlin Seat: The leader of the White Tower Aes Sedai. For various reasons, chief among her being a named character in the book.

--King/queen of Murandy/Tarabon/Andor/Cairhein/High Lords of Tear: They have surprisingly little freedom, and, again, are all named characters in the book.

--Rand al’Thor, Mattrim Cauthorn, Perrin: Main characters in the books. Only just born.

--Moiraine/any named Aes Sedai: Obvious reasons.

--Pedron Niall: Leader of the Children of Light, the “Whitecloaks”, he’s a named character.

--The Dark One/The Creator: You can’t be these two for obvious reasons.

    Roles I would advise against:

--Trollocs: Beastial half men, they are not intelligent. At all. They fight and eat. That’s it.

--Myrddraal/Fades/sightless, etc: Whilst just as intelligent as humans, you get no choice with your personality, appearance or motives. They all look the same and act the same, and all serve the Dark One (Shai’tan)

--Aiel: One of the retreating Aiel (returning to the wastes after their goal was complete). They don’t like “wetlanders”. They will be attacked wherever they go, their ways are too complex to explain, etc.

--Any Lord or Lady: They get very little freedom. If you want to be a noble of a lesser house from Andor, Cairhein, Tear, Murandy, etc. then let me know. I just advise against it, is all.

Ok, now that’s over and done with, roles that I suggest need filling:

--Soldiers that fought against Aiel before Tar Valon (note: you think the Aiel left because you beat them.) :
    Murdoch and Bryan (me)

--Soldiers (other. EG. Royal guard, local police, etc) :

--Peasants (please specify sub-role, eg farmer, Fletcher, blacksmith) :

-Lacey, ordinary girl, father works at local inn.

--Merchants (please specify sub-type, eg fabrics, tobacco, food, etc) :

--Warders (note: You MUST have an Aes Sedai NPC along with you, or another Rper to be your Aes Sedai)

    -Gabriel, Skye's warder [Brandon]

--Aes Sedai (Please specify Ajah. I would only like one per Ajah, please, and at least one Red, and unless you‘re red, you must have at least One Warder. I would like to start with a maximum of three, but that can expand after a while) :

    -Skye (Shuyler), Yellow Ajah.
-Kristie, new Aes Sedai, Green Ajah.
    -Capri, Red Ajah

    --Novices:

    --Accepted:

--Men who can channel (Two only, please, and specify how long you‘ve known you can channel) :
    Bryan, 10 years (me)

    --Wilders (Three max please) :

    --Whitecloaks:

    Rowan [Howl}

    --Whitecloak Questioners:

    --Other (please specify) :
    Murdoch, soldier (mercenary) (me)

    The Rules:
    No Godmodding.
    No leaving without announcing
I will try to bend to allow you in…but I won’t change the rules completely.
Please try to stay within the rules of magic here.
    Have fun

There are rules about the One Power (I won‘t go into depth, these are just generally) : Death can’t be healed, and there are some wounds that can’t be healed. The energy that is required for healing always comes from the patient. You can lift others, but it is the hardest to do, and varies according to your strength in The Power. You can shield, and be shielded, from the power, stopping your channelling immediately, by another wielder. How easily depends on your strength, and cutting off someone already channelling is harder then cutting someone off who isn‘t.

13 Aes Sedai can “link“, combining their powers, but men need a woman to link them. Conversely, 13 Aes Sedai need a man to take the link to 27, then another to take it to 41, etc. Men are stronger in the power individually to women, though. Men who channel are doomed to go mad as the taint of the Dark One seeps into their mind- when they go mad varies. It could be ten years, it could be ten days; it does, however, depend on how often they use Saidin.

Women who can channel can’t detect men channelling, but men who can channel get a tingly feeling on their arm when women channel. Women who Channel can detect other women channelling, just as men who channel can detect other men channelling. For both genders, seeing the same sex channel is like seeing a glow, an aura around them. Women who have been Aes Sedai for a while can detect women who can channel, whether or not they’re channelling at that moment.

There is a weaving (what they call spells) that can detect men’s channelling, and that’s what the Red Ajah use. Most men who can Channel can overwhelm an Aes Sedai one-on-one, and usually require two or three Aes Sedai linked to defeat him and shield him. Rand Al’thor, Mazrim Taim and Logain all require at least five Aes Sedai to overwhelm, six at most. I will step in if you go too far with the power.

I will explain the rules of enemies as they appear (Eg. Trollocs, Myrdraal, Grey Men, Draghkar, etc.) You can make up other creatures, bandits, etc.
You may have up to two other characters under your control (Unless you’re green Ajah, then you can have a max of four Warders)

    Now, for the setting:
It's a small hamlet in the north of Andor. There is a blacksmith, a stables, three inns and a large collection of houses, but besides that it's barely classed as a town. It's small and out of the way, and that is where we start. You can be passing through, running from something or just living there. Murdoch and Brian are both living there and have been for a year, since Brian managed to escape the Red Ajah that were hunting him. They first grew suspicious during a series of suspicious events during the final battle of the Aiel War, and set off in pursuit after Murdoch and Brian. Murdoch and Brian escaped, settling down for the past year.
Now, Red Ajah Aes Sedai have arrived in town, asking after Murdoch and, more specifically, Brian. (When I say, lol). There have also been rumours of Trollocs in the area...what will happen?

Murdoch watches the man seemingly casually, keeping only half an eye on the group of Whitecloaks. In reality, he only requires half an eye, as he has trained himself to be alert to everything happening. If they make a move, he'll be able to anticipate it, and hopefully counter whatever it is. Their laughable attempt to reach for their knives subtly almost amuses him, but even the hint of a laugh could provoke the typically proud and impatient Whitecloaks. He supposes that reaching for their swords would be too obvious.

"Strange clothes?" He echoes, scratching his head slowly, allowing his clothes to fall open slightly to reveal the crossguard of his sword, seemingly by accident. Although the Heron Mark isn't visible, the sword should get the message across. Don't mess with him.
But strange clothes? They could either be looking for a "Darkfriend"- but they would be travelling incognito, trying hard to look normal- or more worryingly, Aes Sedai. If they are looking for Aes Sedai, it means that they would have heard that there were some in the area. This is very worrying.

"What do you mean by 'strange'? We get travellers every now and then, but no one that would strike me as suspicious. Are they in some kind of trouble?" He asks innocently.

Ooc: So..Ignore the horse parts, I guess?
bic: Schuyler kicked her horse, riding slowly through the back road of the small village. "Would you suppose he lived in the town, and not in one of the farms outside?" She glanced quickly at Capri before turning her attention to the streets again. Schuyler mumbled something inaudible to the others as her mind kept questioning the location of this man.

"Well, if I were him," she paused, wanting to grimace at the thought, "I would hide in the countryside...or farms. But this man is tricky, he's escaped me already. Maybe he's hiding in plain sight, where we wouldn't even think of looking. But you never know, these men are tricky." she said, glancing slowly around. People on the outskirts of town were whispering as they passed by.

"Also, may I add, that our clothes are probably giving away our identities?" she half-whispered, face still hiden in the shadow of her hood.

"Hey Father? I'm done the work that you wanted me to do!"Lacey says, walking over to her Father. "Well, then you can go and do whatever you want for now, I might need you later"Lacey's Dad says, yawning loudly.

Lacey opens the door of the Inn, and continues down the dirt path again, going to sit under her favorite tree once again. Lacey sits and stares out into the city and the surroundings around her, and smiles as she looks around and see's her Dad mingling with others outside the Inn.

No matter the facial retaliation of the passing villagers, with each I throw a light, not too eager smile. Some smiled back, some even nodded their heads, and others seemed threatened. Not by us particularly, but that us being here, must mean something.

“Although, seeming ‘tricky’, even if you are means you have something to trick about, something to hide; Not an appearance he’ll be aiming for. He’ll blend in with the crowd, but keep to him self residence wise. The farming homes are a good guess, and a better chance then local.” I replied to the group.

“She’s right. Gabriel and I blend in, more or less, but you stand out enough for people to start talking, if they haven’t already.” Justin piped up and spoke. Whether he was addressing just me, or the group, I didn’t know, as I didn’t look to him when he said it. “Kristie?” He asked again, his voice louder, implying he’d moved his horse closer to mine. “I’m fine.” I said, still not looking to him. “Kristina?” He pleaded. I finally turned, but only because the use of my full name bothered me, I don’t know why, it just did. When I turned to face him, he locked eye contact for a moment before reaching into the saddlebag laid over his horse. He pulled a large, light brown, folded cloth and reached it to me. “The cloak button’s up, and will cover what clothing your cloak now does not.” He said, without a sound of concern as you would expect. Instead, his tone was flat, and annoyed almost. I shook my head and turned back towards the road.

Guys, I'm staying in this roleplay, but I MAY be gone for 2 days or so. The protection on my computer needs to be renewed, and apparently it expires tonight at midnight. I'm hopefully going to get it renewed, but if I don't, you know why I haven't responded. I'll stay in as long as it's going, and jump in where and when I can.

    Sorry guys.

ooc: No problem, Kristie, I understand and thank you for the warning. Smile
Meanwhile, whilst I am waiting for Howl, I shall get reinvolved. Lacey, I know it's difficult, but please do try to get involved with some of the other players. Also, does your character know Brian/Murdoch personally or has she just seen them from a distance?

    Ic:

A dark, chestnut brown horse trots into town on the narrow dust road, kicking up dirt and stones as it passes the rusted gates. The figure on top sways slightly with the horses movements with well-practised ease, his simple brown tunic and breeches slightly dusty at the bottom. A single short-longsword hangs at his side on the left side of his waist, tapping lightly against the flanks of the horse as it moves.

Brian nods in greeting to the villagers as he passes, the townsfolk smiling and nodding back as he moves past. It's been a while since he's been in town, and he's missed it. Besides, he's out of ale up at the farm, and he does like his ale.
He moves towards the side, swinging himself off of the horse quickly and easily, quickly tying the horse up to a nearby bar. Nobody seems to mind, and he smiles to himself; it helps to be popular. He'll have to avoid some of the younger women, though; he's heard that some of them have large crushes on him, and he can't get involved with anyone...what with his ultimate fate and everything.

He'll go mad eventually; that much is a given. He's been able to stave it off for a long time, avoiding channelling, but even now he can feel that sticky, oily, black taint seeping into him, his very essence, as if a dark sludge is slowly polluting his very soul. He hasn't detected any signs of madness as of yet, but it's entirely possible that it will either happen suddenly or that it's started already; he just hasn't noticed. The thought makes him shudder involuntarily.

Turning away from his horse, he scans the surrounding area, and gives a small jolt; there's Murdoch, down the road, confronting a bunch of whitecloaks. Although they don't look angry, they are reaching for weapons, trying to be discreet, and he can see from his body pose that Murdoch has casually revealed his sword. Although he has no worries about Murdoch being able to handle himself against a bunch of Whitecloaks, he's worried about what the confrontation would mean; it could result in the death of everyone in the village, branded as darkfriends if the whitecloaks are killed or injured.

Just as he's about to move down the street towards the whitecloaks and Murdoch, intent on diffusing any situation, he catches sight of something further down the road, near the entrance. A bunch of horses, and people parting infront of them. As he watches, they turn down a small sub road, but the regal bearing and the glimpse of an ageless face- along with the rich clothes and colours- are all he needs.

Aes Sedai. Blood and Ashes! How did they find him? Eyes and Ears in this tiny village? Burn it all!
Turning on his heel, he sets off at a very quick walk towards the other side of the square. He has to evade them until they're gone, or until he can get away cleanly. He has a sudden impression that his time here has come to an end. Blast it; he likes this village.
He moves round the large tree in the centre, passing a shape on the floor, but he ignores it. Leaning on the opposite side, he keeps half an eye behind him, watching for any Aes Sedai or any accompanying Warder.

"You are right, Capri." Schuyler said, eying a villager from afar. She turned back to the group looking to Kristie and Capri. "We should change and then find the man. If he sees us from afar, he will most certainly run once again, or find another use of wit to fool us," she paused looking into a small store. "Capri, it looks as though they have simple cloaks inside," she said, pausing to look at Kristie with a small smile. "seeing as you have one, I suppose it is only Capri and myself who need one now." Schuyler turned back to the store, looking inside.

Capri simply nodded, suddenly swinging her legs off of. Her black horse. She teathered him, then walked into the store. The shopkeeper gave her a blank stare, eyes slowy widening as she saw the sheek red of Capri's cloak.

"Hello," Capri said, watching for Skye to follow, "I'd like to buy one those robes please," she said, face still slightly cocncealed as she pointed to a normal looking cloak.

The shopkeeper hurridely nodded and grabbed one, handing it to Capri. In return, Capri placed a few gold coins in her hand.

Capri walked outside once more, soundlessly walking past the rest and into an abandoned alleyways nearby. Quickly she removed her red cloak and slipped of the dark grey one, covering her red dress completely.

She walked back to her horse, leaving her hood down and black hair hanging down her body. Debatingly, she stared at her serpent ring, waiting for Skye.

Schuyler had followed Capri closely into the store, picking up a black cloak as Capri had gotten hers. She placed four gold coins into the shopkeeper's hands and followed Capri outside, only an inaudible thanks given. She took off her yellow cape and slipped on the black cloak, concealing her blue dress. She climbed onto her horse again, slipping the yellow cape into her saddlebag. "Let's go" Schuyler mumbled, pulling the reins of her horse. She started down the road, getting a strange feeling of being watched. "Capri, is he near?" She asked, hoping she had the same feeling.

With a very sarcastic scratching of his head, the man allows his sword to be spotted by the children of light. Viktor doesn't release his grip on his dagger and focuses at the man's lower half of the body, looking for the slightest movement that indicates that the man is attacking.

Seeing as this man will not budge, Rowan knows that he will not stop until he gets the information he wants.
“By strange clothes, I am asking whether you have spotted any Aes Sedai recently,” Grumbling, Rowan casts a look at the other children of light and they scatter to the sides, walking out of the inn immediately. “We’ve been tracking them for weeks and my squad estimated that they should be arriving here by now. Have you seen anyone heavily dressed or wearing rings of serpent-demons?” Rowan says, making sure that the existence of a spy isn’t revealed.

I nodded to Skye with a polite smile, agreeing to what she has said regarding the cloaks/robes. I watched the two of them enter the store to by their needs, and stepped off my horse as well. "The button cloak, please." I asked Justin, as I undid the small knot in the thinner and less concealing one I currently wore.

He stepped off his horse quickly, handed me the robe and stepped back to stroke the animal's head. "What if we've already been seen?" He asked, as if to break an awkward silence, that by rights shouldn't be there. The only person I trust with my life, and we can't have average conversations anymore? "Then we pray Capri can find him, before he figures out a plan of escape." I answered, finishing up the last of the buttoned cloak that rose to just a couple inches below my neckline.

Not waiting for a reply, Capri and Skye exited the store, I mounted and continued on with them. "What do village men do in the middle of the day? Providing he hasn't seen us already."

I raised my eyebrows as Skye returned and my tounge touched the bottom of my top set of teeth. "Skye. That color combination looks a lot better on you. Brings out your facial features more clearly." I grinned inside, I was probably going to be punished later for being distracted...but the yellow kind of washed out her skin. She honestly looked more attractive to me with some different shading. I looked away quickly as we left the alley, trying to look for someone that I had no idea what they looked like.

Slowly, Capri walked up to her horse. After placing her red clock in her bag being carried by her horse, she listened to Skye. Yes, she had the same feeling. And was concentrating on it. Her hand went to the long snout of the horse, gently stroking it as she glanced around with cautious eyes. A few village people stared. Eeriy feeling, actually. They definitely had the right town. But where were they...?

"Oh you know men," she suddenly said to Kristie, her amber eyes scanning the crowds once more, "Trading, drinking, being with women, sticking their noses where they need not be. That sort of thing." she paused, "You see, the thing is...he's here. And that's all that matters. So let us tie up our horses for now, and look for anyone who seems to...stare at us too strangely."

ooc: What do you mean by "feeling?" Red Ajah detect men by using weaves that detect recent channelling XD

    Ic:

Murdoch's eyes widen slightly, but he quickly regains his composure as he watches the Whitecloaks. "Aes Sedai? Here?" Blood and Ashes! How did they find them? This will probably mean that they have to leave again...they were just starting to get comfortable as well. Maybe they should have gone to Far Madding...of course, that would be among the chief suspects if they were hiding from Aes Sedai. But at least they would be relatively safe.

"No...not yet..." he mutters thoughtfully. "Tell me...what would you do to them if you found...them..." he trails off as he catches sight of something beyond the whitecloaks; another few horses, vibrant colours...rich materials only just being covered up by rough cloaks, and the telltale colour-shifting cloak of the Warders; Aes Sedai.
"I think you may have found them..."

OOC-I don't know, I was just following Skye's lead. I was thinking about that, but you know those weird feelings that people get...I don't know. Hey, by the way, are you going to post on Faith's new RP? The one about the teenagers who's parents have left?

OOC- Protection up and running. Thank God.

    BIC-

    Justin:
“In this small of a village, anyone they don’t recognize will be looked at ‘strangely’.” I said in regard to Sedai Capri. “If I was a run away, running literally for my life, and a set of five characters came into town on horseback, I’d either get the hell out in the same moment, or do everything to look as though I was doing nothing. It’s later in the day, getting off work; socializing, relaxing.” I stopped my steed, turning his direction towards the small village area that could be seen from the path we’d been traveling on. “Providing he’s not already chaotic and moronic, plotting our deaths.” I joked quietly to myself, even spiked a small half smirk.

    Kristie:
We left the more enclosed areas and paths, into the village and more open space – It became harshly quiet. There were villagers, plenty of them, going about their business and daily lives, but it seemed much quieter then it should be. I expected to barely hear myself think, but although it was loud, it was hushed. “To avoid suspicion, we shouldn’t search at night. Sleep, like everyone else, let them forget we’re even here.”

    OOC- No problem. ^_^

    BIC-

Capri slowly nodded, "Yes, I understand your judgement, Justin. It's good to see from your point of view." she turned her exposed head to Kristie, "You might be right, Sister. But I do know that I won't be sleeping for awhile. If that is what you want to do, then I won't argue with you. You can find an inn to stay at for the moment, but as Justin said, they may have already seen us. Which wouldn't surprise me. So I'll be taking myself and whoever wants to join me on a walk through town, just to be sure."

After speaking, Capri looks around the town once more in the dimming light. A flash of white and gold catches her attention, and her head snaps in that directly. A distance away, it seemed as though Whitecloaks were speaking with a man. She could barely make out their facial features, it was too far away. But she did know what she saw.

"Also, may I add," she said, gesturing to where her gaze was, "That we are not alone here."

    Kristie:
“I’ll will search with you for the moment, but yes, when the sun sets, Justin and I will check into a local Inn.” I said, half disregarding her statement of us not being alone. I had my eyes on the horizon line, trying to judge the amount of decent day we still had. Night, in my opinion would be dangerous. They knew this village, a strong advantage, I wasn’t about to give them another by making myself vulnerable to a surprise at night. That being said, if he hadn’t seen us, he’d most likely heard of our presence by now from others.

    Justin:
The Whitecloak stood out well, and it made me question if we stood out as much during our arrival. A foolish mistake that may have set us back a couple notches, along with the set back of having this Whitecloak in town. My previous encounter with one, was a rough one where a live was almost lost, and not necessarily mine. “Kristie, you should look.” I asked of her, noticing her attention was else where.

    Kristie:
“Hmm?” I mumbled looking to Justin. He nudged his head to first Capri, who’s gave was towards town. I looked, and my eyes popped at the sight of the white and gold. “Isn’t that peachy.”

Her hand was still resting on her horse's black snout, eyes locked on the Whitecloaks.
"Yes, I think it would be best if we got out of sight as soon as possible." she half-whispered.

Schuyler narrowed her eyes at Gabriel as he spoke before turning to the others and following their view to the White cloaks. "Oh, no, no, no. That will simply not do." She mumbled, dismounting from her horse. Her hand pulled went immediately to it's snout, holding it gently as she decided what they should do. "Best thing would be to get out of sight, sisters." Schuyler turned her head back to Capri and Kristie as she agreed with them. "Come, come." She mumbled, taking her hand from the snout and pulling the hood over her her head. She mounted onto her horse again, quickly moving down the street, away from the White cloaks.

“Unfortunately, even this little town will not stay free of those Aes Sedai scums,” The stranger with the sword begins talking again only to let his eyes wander off to something else. At his last statement, Rowan realizes only now what the stranger was looking at.

Tensing, Rowan immediately turns around to see blurry flashes of color quickly leaving. Rowan knows in his mind that those men and women are the Aes Sedai.
“After them!” Rowan yells and Viktor and the others run after the quartet. “Like I said before, this is none of your business but what happens to them will be up to the questioners, not me.” With that, Rowan begins to follow the group of the children of light.

Pulling her grey hood over her face, Capri jumped up back on her horse, slapping the side of it. The black horse whinnied and shoot forward, its hooves clattering against the dirt. Capri followed close behind Skye, looking backwards. Yes, the Whitecloaks had spotted them.

"Kristie!" she yelled as she continued to go farther and father away, weaving through the street.

OOC- Okay, everyone. I'm going on a trip to Washington D.C. starting today. I won't be home until this coming Tuesday at noon. And I'll probably be dead tired. So I'll see what I can do. At 6 P.M., I leave to jump on a bus. The bus ride will be 14 HOURS LONG. I will have internet access on my phone, and it's difficult to make good posts with it, but I will definitely try. But my phone's battery only lasts like ten hours, and less if I use the internet. :/ I'm too attached to this place to be away from it for too long, so when I'm not busy I'll post. But understand I'm on a trip with 80 other high school students and we're to be together ALL OF THE TIME. Blahh, don't know why I signed up...but ya know. It's called the Pro-Life Trip, and thousands of people from the United States march around Washington D.C. for hours to show that they believe in no abortion (check it). For the most part, I'm going to get away from school and to chill with my friends, but anyway...thought that I'd fill ya in.

So anyway, I won't be making too many posts and I'll try and make my characters do something that doesn't involve y'all replying. Razz I'll come back soon.
